Hall, stairs and landing

This has been on-going for a couple of years - as once the new walls were plastered we stopped work until the guestroom was completed due to the amount of rubble etc that would need to be brought down through the landing etc

How we got to this

We had some new coving, dado rail and paneling fitted by Classic Plaster Moulds - what a fantastic job as always https://classicplastermoulds.co.uk/

The paneling really brings it to life

The corbels are coming up fantastic after the years of paint have been stripped

Look at the detail

Can't wait to see the original floor tiles in the hall when we clean them up

Hallway looked lovely with it's first coat of paint

Love the curved walls on the landing

At last it was time to  add the finishing touches, chandeliers and carpets

Have always wanted a runner and stair rods

Two years with no carpet on the landing deserved a celebration

We had the banister painted and the hand rail varnished

Then it was time for the chandeliers

The chandelier at the top of the stairs looked amazing from below

We sourced this church pew from a reclamation yard and it came from Whitley Bay Baptist Church

We spent a couple of hours sanding and polishing it and it came up lovely

Just need some pictures on the wall now which we have ordered off a local artist David Jowsey

Finally got round to cleaning the original floor tiles that are over 100 years old.  They look like new.

This is our local pub 2 mins walk along the road

It has taken a while but we are finally able to start enjoying our beautiful home just in time for Christmas

and relax ......................
